So as a professional web developer / software engineer, it pains me to leverage 'out of the box' software templates to build my website. But part of growing [artistically] is admitting defeat when it comes to how much time I have available. I'd love to actively build and manage my Wordpress site, but with template updates every 3-6 months, the work needed to find/configure new plugins (and update those too), etc. it's just not worth it anymore. I'm switching to SquareSpace to simplify my artistic life. I'm embracing my limitations and leveraging this handy dandy tool. We'll see how I feel in a year or so, but here's hoping for the best!
In light of my new cowardice when it comes to managing the technical components of my own website, today's quick study painting seemed apropos. This was completed in about 2 hours using my own reference photo. I'm kind of liking this girl so there may be more chickens in my future!
